Via Dei Servi
‘Iron Maiden’
This concept seeks to combine two ideas which may naturally seem incompatible; The coldness and rigidity of metal and the idea of soft, fluid femininity. This was done through the use of clean lines throughout the kitchen space as well as the use of colder tones such as varying shades of grey alongside more organic furniture fixtures and pearlescent materials.
In this Kitchen design, the overarching objective of creating a kitchen connected to a dining room was achieved. The result is a U-shaped space which is almost entirely walled up from the rest of the apartment asides from the floor to ceiling crittal door which directly connects the kitchen to the dining room both visually and practically. The space is comprised of two rows of counter space and an island with additional storage. Furthermore, the kitchen is comprised of a full sized refrigerator and freezer tucked behind the shelving, a double sink, stove, dishwasher, open shelves, plenty counter space and stools for 3 people.
