Rooted Dining Table
This dining table seeks to draw inspiration from structures in nature and in this case, the tap root system of a dicotyledon plant which has a larger central root element which breaks into a primary, secondaryand tertiary roots. Instead of taking the literal visual interpretation of the root system, the design sough to create a streamlined look which replicates the solid and compact nature of the root system. Additionally, the idea of buffing the base to flatten it for added stability and to add an effect of the root disappearing into the ground giving a 3D effect to create a dining table made of a tempered glass table top and a carbon steel base with a bronze metallic finish.
